Hello MLP Members ,
It was wonderful to have a full house at our March and April meetings . Many thanks to Russ Norton for updating and reminding us of all the pest , disease and problems faced by some of our favorite plants . Gratitude to Joann Vieira who inspired us all to “ think spring ” and expand our seasonal plant palette .
Congratulations to Doug McDuff , mclp , mca who was presented with the Beacon Award
in April . Doug ’ s contributions to our association and beyond are remarkable . He is a dedicated professional , enthusiastic volunteer , and a committed leader . In other words , he is a shining example — or beacon — for all of us in the landscape industry .
More daylight and some warmer days are making it more urgent for all of us to fill those vacant employee positions . Our meetings are great places to network . Nicole Forsyth of the Norfolk Agricultural High School has many opportunities for MLP members to talk and work with her students . And the MLP job board is a great place to advertise open positions at your company .
What new equipment are you starting with this spring season ? Is it battery operated ? Do your crews love it ? As owners and employees , we all appreciate a quieter worksite . Clients love it . Some towns demand it . We do have options in our equipment choices — many of which are better for the planet and now even better for our bottom line as gas prices climb .
