Hello MLP Members ,
Let ’ s talk about the weather ! It has certainly been a challenging couple of months with extreme heat and severe drought conditions across the region .
Mother Nature finally sent us some much-needed rain , and it arrived just in time for Fall Field Day . Honestly , I thought the rain might keep people away , but our members showed up in force ! I saw many longtime friends , met enthusiastic students from the ag schools and UMass , and engaged with the new generation of tree and landscape professionals eager to make connections and learn .
Thank you to the exhibitors who showed up to support our industry ; the volunteers who helped everything run smoothly ; and the Massachusetts Arborists Association who co-hosted Fall Field Day with us – what a great partnership !
Note to self for next year : don ’ t be last in line at the Trolley Dogs truck , they tend to run out of caramelized onions !
I look forward to seeing everyone at our Annual Meeting on November 8 at The German Club in Walpole . The current board will continue to lead the organization through December 2023 . I am honored to serve another term as President alongside my fellow board members . I look forward to continuing to improve our association and build upon the programs we created this past year .
