n Landscape America was a big winner at the recent SIMA Symposium in Milwaukee , taking home a Best Places to Work in Snow & Ice award . Doug Jasset , of Landscape America ’ s Leadership Team , was recognized as Sales Professional of the Year for his success in more than tripling the company ’ s snow revenue in 2021 . Congratulations !
n Mariani Landscape , based in Lake Bluff , Illinois , has acquired seven family-owned residential landscape companies including MLP member firms R . P . Marzilli in Medway and NatureWorks Landscape Services in Walpole . This growth and consolidation are a first for residential landscape companies . Each of these companies will maintain their brands and leadership teams .
“ We ’ re a family of family businesses ,” says Frank Mariani , chairman of Mariani Landscape . “ That ’ s not just a name . That ’ s not just a slogan … We are going to different markets because these individual companies are the market leaders , and we want to celebrate their success . Marzilli ’ s operations in Medway , MA this summer during NALP ’ s Field Trip . In addition to putting a strong emphasis on company culture and ensuring team members remain passionate about their work , R . P . Marzilli focuses on customer needs . n MLP hosted NALP ’ s first Young Professionals Network meetup at the Start Line Brewery in Hopkinton in late July . Young professionals gathered for an informal networking opportunity and a chance to sample some great , local brews . “ It was a terrific way to collaborate with NALP , make new connections and exchange ideas on how to better run our businesses ,” said MLP board member Andy McDuff , MCLP . “ We should definitely keep it going in the future .”
Team members presented different phases of projects and how the company ’ s streamlined operations have proven successful . They also discussed what to do when projects don ’ t go according to plan . Bob Marzilli shared one of his mantras with the group , “ Clients never remember how you start ; they remember how you finish .” ( Source : Landscape Management ).
