WE APPROACH
this year’s Rosh
Hashanah with a sense of the usual trepidation but
added to that is the sobering thought that this is the first
Rosh Hashanah that we will not have the leadership of
Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein zt”l. We mark the passing of
Rabbi Lichtenstein zt”l this edition.

From the legacy side we examine the Lita Lives project
as well as the misuse of the Holocaust narrative and we
learn some of the perspectives of Rosh Hashanah.
As is appropriate to the month of Elul, we explore some
of the wonderful tikkun olam initiatives: the wonderful work of the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC)
worldwide and in Africa; as well as the mission to save
Africa’s Rhinos.
