Remember when nails were only square-shaped ? Well not anymore . In 2021 , the most admired and loved nail shape was coffin and ballerina , hands down ! We ’ re not sure if it ’ s the semi-square look that nail wearers desire , but left and right , clients requested this shape more than square , oval , or stiletto . And if you ’ re a licensed cosmetologist like myself , then you know first-hand the value of delivering a quality nail application and its defined shape ; as shaping is everything . The shape or lack thereof can make or break a set of natural and artificial nails . Ballerina gives “ girl next door ” vibes , while coffin gives you “ bad chic alert …” It ’ s interesting how nail shapes create a sort of “ attitude ” or “ energy ” for women . You can almost tell the type of character a woman has by the length , design , and shape of her nails . It ’ s like her style of dress and how she wears her hair . Nails will reveal to some level , the type of person you are dealing with .
