“It would have been genius! But even
before (Leto’s film, “Dallas Buyers
Club”])even came out, we were finalizing
who was going to be on this tour,” LP’s
Chester Bennington told MTV News. “But
I’d like to thank Jared for going and winning
an Oscar right before we announced the
tour, it was very nice of him to do that.”
“This is going to be an orgy of art and
music, it’s going to be a celebration, a
mad, magical journey,” Leto added. “I
can’t think of a better way to celebrate
than to go on the road with these bands.”
“It was in the works for a long time, but, if
Jonah Hill had won, it would have been
Linkin Park and Jonah Hill,” LP’s Mike
Shinoda laughed. “So we’re lucky Jared
won.”
As it turns out, the LP/30STM team up
— not to mention AFI, who round out the
Carnivores triple bill — has not only been
in the planning stages for a while, but is
a natural fit ... one that fans of each band
have been dreaming of for years.
“We’ve played a lot of festivals with Thirty
Seconds To Mars and AFI, and we’re
excited to get on the road with those guys,”
Shinoda said. “They’re great performers,
