on half a dozen pairs before eventually giving up and accepting the fact that maybe underwear just aren ’ t for me .
The next thing I had to get over was the sense of worry or shame . We all see how women who are spotted by paparazzi without underwear are treated by the media and society : “ WHAT A SLUT ! She must be so easy ! Does she have no respect for herself ?” Uhm , how about no . Y ’ know who knows I ’ m not wearing underwear as long as I ’ m self-aware and not flashing half of Hollywood ? No one but me . It ’ s my little secret . It ’ s something I choose just for me , and my choice to go commando reflects 0 % on my worth as a woman .
I still wear them from time to time ; short , flowing skirts are not your friend . I am not saying this is for everyone . I hear so many “ well I can ’ t because …” and I just want to challenge women to actually try going without for 30 days . It may not be the most comfortable for some women , and that ’ s totally understandable ( especially when wearing jeans !) but you may come to realize there is a very freeing , empowering and comfortable life beyond panties .

emotional issues , as well as allows you the time to just breathe and be , something our society doesn ’ t concern itself with .
Personal Growth and Hobbies
Once all of the health aspects are being looked after , the only thing left to worry about in these little people ’ s lives is their happiness . Much of their happiness comes from their health , as well as from their hobbies and interests . Taking part in team sports or other physical activities is a great start , but there are many other hobbies that can really contribute to their happiness and shape their personalities .
If you read my article in the Spring Issue of Missy Ink , you ’ ll know that my boys love music . Music plays a huge role in our family ’ s life , and it holds quite a large key to our happiness . Both the boys also love colouring and art , and reading books above all else . They both have favourite toys and games , and making time for these things really improves their moods and creates a fun home environment . Often times , our society puts so much emphasis on learning academics , or encouraging talents that will make you “ successful ” in life , but sometimes we all just need to have a mosh pit in the living room , or dye our hair blue , or roll around in the mud for no reason . Children are still learning when they are being goofy , having fun , and expressing themselves . They are learning what makes them happy , and isn ’ t happiness the true measure of success ?
Whether your child is the next Tony Hawk or Hayley Williams , remember that the only thing that truly matters in life is that they grow up happy and healthy . And if you find yourself struggling with these goals yourself , take a look at your inner-child and see what ’ s missing from your own life . Maybe taking up a new sport or hobby as a family is just what the doctor ordered .
