Jan. 12 — First meeting of representatives of five universities in Kansas
City, Mo.
Feb. 16 — Second meeting in Kansas
City. Washington University of St.
Louis, University of Iowa, University
of Missouri and University of Kansas
organized as charter members.
University of Iowa and University of
Nebraska tied in football with one win.
March 15 — Drake University, University
of Nebraska and Iowa State College
were admitted.
April 1 — Official name adopted, Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic
Association, at first meeting of the
Association. Constitution, bylaws and
rules also adopted. C.E. McClung of
Kansas was named secretary. Athletic
participation was limited to three years
and required a year’s residence prior
to eligibility for varsity competition.
May — The first conference track championship meet was held in Kansas City.
Nov. 10 — The Missouri Valley basketball
league was formed with Washington
University of St. Louis, University of
Missouri and University of Kansas
constituting a southern division and
University of Nebraska, Iowa State College and Drake University comprising
a northern division. A championship
series between the northern and
southern division winners was held.

Dec. 26 — Kansas State University was
admitted.

Butler University was admitted.
1934
Butler University withdrew. The University of Tulsa and Washburn University
(Kansas) were admitted.

Saint Louis University admitted.

Washburn University (Kansas) withdrew.

University) admitted.
