• The Shockers set a school record with 24 victories, which included the program’s best-ever MVC mark at 15-3 and tied the school record for consecutive
victories with 10.
• The 2013-14 Shockers introduce eight newcomers, including six freshmen. Returning is the 2012-13 MVC Defensive Player of the Year and MVC
first-teamer Alex Harden plus MVC All-Tournament Team member, Michaela
Dapprich. Michelle Price is the lone senior while Kelsey Jacobs rounds out
the returners. Alie Decker, who played in five games during an injury-riddled
freshman season, provides moderate experience as a redshirt freshman.
• Reigning MVC Coach of the Y ear Jody Adams needs 22 victories to become
the winningest coach in Wichita State history. She enters the year with 92
wins, second place behind Linda Hargrove, who amassed 113 victories over
a nine-year period from 1989-98.
• The three graduated four-year seniors (Jessica Diamond, Jazimen Gordon,
and Chynna Turner) produced the highest single-season, two-, three-, and
four-year win totals in school history. Diamond left as the No. 5 scorer (1,432
points) and assist-maker (380) at Wichita State, while Gordon placed 3rd in
blocked shots (119) and Turner set the school record for games played (130).
