Overcoming Faith By: Rev. A.D. Gammill Faith is the foundation of a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul stated in Romans 12:3, “God hath dealt every man the measure of faith.” In order to establish that all important connection with Christ, we must exercise trust in what God has given man through Jesus. He came to bring salvation to all mankind. We not only receive salvation but life and that is more abundant. When reading Hebrews Chapter 11, we find a recording of those who had great faith in God, even before Jesus came to bring hope to mankind. We see Abel whom God noted as being righteous; Enoch who pleased God with his walk; and Noah who believed when he was told to build an ark to save his people (even though it had never rained). One can also see the trust Abraham had concerning God’s promises of a promised land as well as a son in his and Sarah’s old age. These faithful servants all stepped out on faith and trust in the Word of God. They were not disappointed. Noah went against all his neighbors and friends when he preached about a flood coming to destroy the earth. How can the earth be destroyed by something of which no one has ever seen or heard? The man of God kept his own family on task building the ark in spite of much criticism. Where were the critics when the large d ɽ
