seeing things happening to your
loved ones, can make you feel so
useless and weak. Fleur’s little sister
Amandine has a very bad heart condition,
and she can do nothing about it.
This is her story.
ONE HELL OF A CHRISTMAS
It was the first day of Christmas, I remember
it very clearly even if it seems like such a
long time ago now. Our family had gotten
a new addition three years prior, my mother
had given birth to my precious little sister. I
know that some children feel threatened,
or maybe jealous when they have been an
only child for some time and they get a little
brother or sister but I wasn’t, I was simply over
the moon when I first held her. There is something about holding this tiny little bundle of
life, that makes you promise them that you’ll
always protect and cherish them.
Three years later, I still wasn’t jealous in fact
I loved her even more. So it was Christmas
time, and well it would be an understatement to say that it’s my favorite time of the
year (besides summer because sun). Amandine had been grouchy all day, weeping
every time somebody would lift her up, refusing to eat and she seemed to have trouble
breathing. I had caught a nasty bug the
week before Christmas, so my parents just
thought I had infected her. We were gathered around the Christmas tree, all cuddled
