Piano Man Tom Gromball plays at the Latitude Bar & Chill on the first Wednesday of the month , as well as at Sinatra ’ s Ristorante in Lake Helen , Florida . For most of his long music career , he has played mostly ballads from the 30s and 40s laced with a lot of Sinatra . Tom credits Brent Hastings with the successful growth and development of the Coral Reef Corner Band . “ Brent is very humble and he ’ s great at working with everyone to help them grow musically . I never really played blues before I moved to Latitude Margaritaville . Now , thanks to Brent , I can play blues .”
The Coral Reef Corner Band continues to expand its song list , and now plays three sets with 11 to 12 songs each . Some crowd favorites on their song list include , of course , “ Margaritaville ,” as well as “ Mustang Sally ,” “ Green River ,” “ Take it Easy ,” “ Moondance ,” “ Back to Louisiana ” and “ Brown Eyed Girl .”
What does the future hold for this music-loving group ? They have their sights set on the big prize — playing at the Latitude Margaritaville Town Center ’ s concert stage .
“ The joy of this is watching people develop musically ,” Brent says . “ Give me another year , and I could probably put these guys up against anyone but we ’ re all friends first and musicians second . We have a ball !”
