If you ’ re a golfer , it ’ s a hole in one . If you ’ re a basketball player , it ’ s a three-pointer . Bob Sheldon is into both sports . A retired head coach for the Tufts University men ’ s basketball team since 1988 , he was the Tufts ’ Jumbo program ’ s all-time leader in coaching victories with 483 wins . And he recently scored another big win in the Wheel of Fortune Home Sweet Home Sweepstakes .
Bob and his wife Cindy had their pick of a home in any one of three Latitude Margaritaville communities , and he picked Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head . “ It was crazy ,” says Bob . “ Cindy and I were so excited to have won !” While he has won a lot of basketball games , he says he ’ s never won anything like this .
“ One of the reasons we watch Wheel of Fortune is that my mother-in-law , Bess , lived with us and we watched with her . When she passed away , we just kept watching . That ’ s why we think she had a hand in our winning the house ,” says Bob . “ It ’ s a very happy kind of surreal ,” adds Cindy .
Bob was notified that he had won the Wheel of Fortune Sweepstakes while he was flying home from a golf trip . When he landed , he told Cindy that he had received a call from Wheel of Fortune but didn ’ t know what it was about . Cindy listened to the message and said , “ I think we won the house !”
When Bob called them back , he was told he ’ d won a prize and they had some questions for him . He answered the questions then was told he had won the grand prize .
