He enjoys performing with the neighborhood Coral Reef Corner Band that includes a number of musicians with successful performing careers . “ Music is a big part of our lives here ,” says Randall . “ We have jam sessions with friends , and it ’ s startling how many people here I would put up against anyone in Nashville .”
Randall ’ s career got its start when his parents got him a drum set and guitar at age 10 . He started writing songs and signed his first record deal in Nashville at age 12 . Along the way , he was mentored by some of the greats in music , including Neil Diamond , Charlie Daniels and Elton John .
He has written songs for many big names in music , including Anne Murray , Frankie Valli and Marilyn McCoo . In 2017 , he became one of only 22 singer / songwriters to be inducted into the Country Music Association ( CMA ).
He says Maribeth is his number one fan . “ A lot of the songs I ’ ve written have been about her or our relationship . I have a theory that people are born with certain gifts and whatever gifts you ’ re born with drive you through your whole life .” And , no doubt , a lot of folks are very happy that Randall ’ s gift of music has driven him to become their neighbor at Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach !
