Latitude Margaritaville ' s own Brown eyed girl Gets serenaded by Jimmy Buffett
Jimmy Buffett serenaded a very special “ Brown Eyed Girl ” during his visit and impromptu concert at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head . Her name is Judy Thomas . After a long journey with cancer , Judy recently learned that she now is cancer free .
When Jimmy asked for song requests , Judy ’ s husband Kenny asked him to play “ Brown Eyed Girl ” for his bride . Jimmy responded , “ Well , where ’ s your brown eyed girl ?” Kenny pointed to Judy who was in the front row . Neighbor Martha Bousquet stepped up and told Jimmy about Judy ’ s journey and her recent good news .
Kenny replays the moment . “ Jimmy looked down , waved at Judy and started playing . When he sang the last ‘ You ’ re my brown eyed girl ,’ he said , ‘ Come on up here brown eyed girl !’ It was awesome !”
Judy says she was in total surprise . “ I sat down beside him and he gave me a hug . I ’ m like this is really Jimmy Buffett ! I can ’ t believe I ’ m being serenaded by Jimmy Buffett ! I love his music . It just makes you feel good . When I was in the hospital , Jimmy Buffett was on a morning show on TV . My sister-in-law tried to call the show because she wanted Jimmy Buffett to sing a song to me but she couldn ’ t get through . Now I can tell her it ’ s okay because I had my own personal concert !”
“ The day I came home from the hospital after surgery , we headed straight home to Latitude Margaritaville because that was where I wanted to be . It ’ s my happy place ,” says Judy . “ When we pulled in , there must have been 60 people in our driveway welcoming me home . That ’ s what Latitude Margaritaville is about . It ’ s the most amazing place you could live in your whole life !”
