“ Everyone was very welcoming ,” says Kathleen . “ Being so close to Charleston and the towns along the Georgia Coast also is great . It was so fun to see the Low Country and other areas . It ’ s very appealing .”
It seemed everything was pointing towards Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head but it would be a year before Jim and Kathleen circled back to it . In July 2020 , they booked a Change in Latitude Getaway for a Stay & Play weekend at the community , and the rest , as they say , is history . “ It was just a fabulous time !” recalls Jim . “ We saw what life could be like at our next phase of life . We had our own golf cart , we enjoyed the Paradise Pool , and Kathleen had a cheeseburger in paradise at the Latitude Bar & Chill . We immediately decided this is the lifestyle we wanted ."

The Cregges closed on their Antigua villa home at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head in May . “ We love the simplicity and the lovely coastal feel of it ,” notes Kathleen . “ It ’ s easy to clean , cozy and fun .” Jim points out that the goal was to downsize but says the layout of the villa feels big .
“ It ’ s so fun to look at the monthly activities calendar and say , ‘ let ’ s do this , let ’ s do that ,’” says Kathleen . Jim sums it all up , “ This is my reward for 40 plus years of hard work .” And … the kids are coming back … to visit mom and dad and have their own getaways at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head !"
