“ Our residents love to play ,” says Mona . “ And no one can say it ’ s immature because we ’ re all participating ! Everyone wore Fins Up ! Fun Day t-shirts and , even though residents haven ’ t started moving in at Latitude Margaritaville Watersound yet , Sally Evans led the Watersound sales team in participating in the celebration .”
Ed ’ s idea took flight and the result … the first ( to be annual ) Fins Up ! Fun Day at Latitude Margaritaville to kick off the summer ! The celebration included live bands Panatasia steel drums at Hilton Head and Jimi Pappas and Blue Stone Circle in Daytona . There was dancing , great food and sips , including “ adult ” slushies , wacky water games , Shark Pong , Rockstar Karaoke , a scavenger hunt , crafts and a crafts bazaar featuring locally made items .
Fins Up ! Fun Day will now be celebrated annually at all Latitude Margaritaville communities along with National Cheeseburger Day , National Margarita Day and more . “ We capture any opportunity for a celebration at Latitude Margaritaville ,” says Mona . “ We just love seeing the smiles spread across the community , embracing the fun together and feeling the love .”
The day was all about coming together as a community and included an opportunity for residents to contribute summer toys and back to school supplies for local children . There also was a charity dunk tank for Boys & Girls Club at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head and a number of staff team members took their turn at getting dunked , including the Latitude Bar & Chill bartenders .
Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach even had its very own “ Sharknado ” and the fins were flying with remote controlled air-born sharks that were maneuvered through an obstacle course . There were pool games , decorated floats , a golf cart parade , water balloon fight , prizes and more .
