When asked how things are going with his new home at Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach , resident Richard Burns responds , “ It ’ s another day in Paradise !” Richard and his wife Mary are celebrating their second year as residents of their new community and enjoying life each and every day .
Upon retiring from their respective careers in Oklahoma — Richard as a cardiovascular profusionist and Mary as an elementary physical education and health teacher — they decided they were moving to someplace warm , near the water and fun for the next phase of their lives together .
After visiting Florida ’ s east and west coasts and Key West looking for the perfect sunshine state location , the couple discovered Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach and their decision was made .
Richard shares that they have always been drawn to destinations with an island lifestyle . “ We had a house in the Bahamas for about 10 years , and we ’ ve traveled to the Caribbean and Bora Bora , Polynesia . We ’ re certified divers , and we also boat and fish so we wanted to find a place that fit the themes of living near the water .”
Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach answered everything on the couple ’ s checklist , according to Richard . “ The models piqued our interest . They are beautifully done . It was the WOW factor . There were so many choices : paint colors , tile , the arches in the entryways , lanais , swimming pools . Our salesperson , Linda Diviaio , recently asked me if we are still happy with everything ,” says Richard . “ Of course we are ! I ’ ve never seen anything like this in my life !”
