A painter, with a strong leaning towards the impasto technique using oil paints, and occasionally watercolour in his illustrations, he remarks that the pencil is still one of his most used tools for expressing himself. Having spent a considerable time working in the design industry, he decided to branch out as a freelance graphics designer and has worked on over 200 logos and brand identities as well as magazine spreads and covers, product/packaging designs, press adverts and website designs. He considers his style to be minimalist in nature and his approach to creating visual and mentally stimulating designs rely heavily on the use of white or negative space. But being minimalist doesn’t always translate to being overtly simple, as he tries to apply an intelligent edge to everything. It is important that people take a second and third look at a flier, poster or on a device and discover new details as well as get the message. 48
