In your opinion, what role does an artist have in society? Self care mostly. I have found, that taking care of myself, goes hand in hand with my work. The things I create are results of my growth. I am only able to tell stories after I have overcome them. Getting better, feeling better, allows me to stay creative. It is the job of an artist to spread a message. Art has very subtle, but also very in your face ways of communicating a message. An artist is able to captivate people, literally stop their minds, for a couple of minutes just to listen to what an artist is trying to say. I think it’s the job of an artist to tell a story. Every story varies from artist to artist. 34 I also pray a lot. Sometimes I feel very overwhelmed with the things I’m trying to do. So I’m constantly saying a silent prayer, asking GOD for guidance. Also, I remain grateful. I’m easy on my self. I always remember how far I’ve come as an artist, and it encourages me to keep going, because im very curious myself, what my real heights are. Where do you find What are you working on inspiration? right now? I find inspiration in everything around me. Art I am working on everything lol. The textile store requires truth to flow freely. My art is pieces of has really helped me explore different things, my life. I have found that the only way for me to right now I am learning how to dye fabrics using always feel inspired is to draw directly from the different methods and techniques, different ways moments in my life, because those never really of mixing in chemicals, and stuff. Sometimes I ask end, until they do. In every moment, there’s a myself “what do you think you are?”lol. but its story to tell, if only you’re willing to pay attention. been an amazing process so far, and I am loving every moment of it. What patterns or rituals do you have when creating?
