Snowkiting Should Be on Your Things To Do List
Most folks people get into snowkiting because of the intensity and thrill tied to letting Mother Nature propel them. Wind offers quite the adrenaline rush. And as an added bonus, it does so without the need for a boat or lift ticket. (Woohoo, save that cash for a refreshing craft beer after a day of outdoor play!)
It’s also a recreational full-body workout. Snowkiting primarily tones the core, but also requires upper body strength (for kite control) and the same leg muscle movements as snowboarding or skiing. And the ‘outdoor gym’ perks keep coming! By eliminating the need for a chairlift, the hours of cardio that come with snowkiting make this one of the warmest winter sports around.
As for safety, participants must keep in mind that snowkiting is an extreme sport. Therefore, it certainly has potential to be dangerous. But the level of this potential is significantly lowered (and fun significantly increased) when the sport is learned under the instruction of a certified professional who is well-versed in both coaching techniques and safety protocol.
And one of the best things about snowkiting? It’s pretty easy to pick up on! And it’s much quicker for beginners to get their bearings on snow versus water.
