Due to reconstruction the capacity increased to 290.2 MW. 65 of 102 hydroelectric units have been reconstructed. Final of the reconstruction is planned for 2020. A new hydropower plant is being built on the Dniester river. 2 hydroelectric units with 648 MW total capacity are operating. Start of the third hydraulic unit is scheduled for late 2015. Design work for the construction of Kyiv hydropower plant and Kakhovka-2 hydropower plant are currently performed.
