In the Academy there are 11 scientific and industrial complexes, 3 branches (including 1 foreign), 3 scientific and technical centers and the Ukrainian Union of Demolition Engineers. Today the Academy includes 122 full members and 157 corresponding members, 5 active members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and more than 20 members of other academies. AMSU liaises with scientists from the CIS, USA, China, France, Germany and other countries. International recognition of the AMSU authority is certified by the UN registration. The Academy supports and develops scientific cooperation with foreign counterparts through the World Mining Congress, Association of Mining Professors and other international organizations. International activity has opened the possibility to involve foreign scientists from Russia, USA, China, Poland, Romania, Italy and other countries into Academy's activities. In 2009, the Romanian department of AMSU was established and is led by full member Prof. Nikolay Iliyas. 25 years ago the rally of miners of Ukraine took the decision to establish the Academy of Mining Sciences of Ukraine.
