Report On Small Equine
Judging Seminar
Submitted by Harry Elder- Director Region #13
The AMHA portion of the combined event started on Friday
Oct 9 at 3 pm. Applicant testing took place and judges 6 year
interviews continued until 9 pm. We had a total of 14 attendees
which included 4 new applicants. We conducted 11 interviews.
The interviewing panel felt very confident in the interview results
and listened with interest to the comments made by the judges.
On Saturday Oct 10 2015, the open seminar began at 9 am and
was facilitated by Mr. Jon Wolf. It was a very intimate clinic and
all of our judges participated in making it the success it certainly
became. Congratulations to all concerned.
In light of the many comments on our driving classes, both by
judges as well as exhibitors, trainers and owners, A letter was
suggested to be sent to all judges re-enforcing their responsibility
to judge these classes in accordance with the rules in our rule
book. The AMHA rule book is very clear on the difference
for the driving classes. The LOC has trained the judges to the
differences. The judges have the tools, it is their responsibility to
adhere to the requirements of the class and we expect to judge
each class accordingly.
