Over the years, Pampulha has assumed its natural vocation for tourism and leisure. The wealth of the architectural complex attracts thousands of tourists who see icons of modernity in the curves of the Church of San Francisco, the Museum of Modern Art and the House of Dance, buildings generated under the developmental perspectives of the prefect of the time, Juscelino Kubitschek. The project envisaged the construction of a series of buildings around an artificial lake: a casino, an elite club, a popular dance hall, a church and a hotel that was not built. The work is designed as a set in which each element is seen independently and autonomously. In addition, the buildings are thought in close relation with the surroundings, which provides the natural frame and inspiration for the drawings and plants. The center of the project, according to the order, should be the casino, which was the first building to be built.
