A strong MMA-PAC helps lead the way for a competitive business environment for MMA members and the manufacturing industry .
MMA spoke with long-time industry supporter Patrick Curry recently about the importance of the MMA-PAC to keep Michigan manufacturing moving forward .
Curry is President of Fullerton Tool and Endurance Carbide , a member of the MMA Board of Directors and serves as Chair of the MMA-PAC .
You have served as the Chair of the MMA-PAC for many years . Why are you such a champion for the MMA-PAC ? Curry : I don ’ t see myself as a champion for the PAC itself but rather a passionate ally for the manufacturing industry as a whole . Supporting the MMA-PAC is one way to ensure that pro-manufacturing candidates are elected , and our industry remains competitive .
Many are hesitant to donate to a political effort . What would you say to help them overcome their hesitation ? Curry : It ’ s true , partisan politics can be controversial and overwhelming to engage with . The fact is , the MMA-PAC is a tool to help the industry we all care about . Supporting the PAC supersedes partisan politics and ensure pro-industry leaders are elected .
For Manufacturers , what is the largest benefit you see to engaging in the political process ? Curry : To remain competitive in an ever-changing world , continual engagement with our leaders and supporting the election of pro-manufacturing candidates ensures our business climate remains favorable to success .
