MMA ’ s Dave Worthams is pulling out all the stops to build a broad base of support for an MMA-supported proposal to provide more flexibility in Michigan ’ s high school curriculum to allow students to carve their own path for the future .
Legislation introduced in the House , known as the 21st Century Skills Curriculum , would allow for truly individualized and flexible adjustments to Michigan ’ s high school graduation requirements based on a student ’ s post-secondary goals . Increased flexibility would permit students the ability to shape their graduation requirements to give them a head start in gaining skills necessary for in-demand careers , including advanced manufacturing .
