MFG Day : A Tradition of Excellence
MFG Day is more than just a celebration of who you are and what you do — it ’ s a chance for you to connect one-on-one with educators , economic developers , parents and , most importantly , the young people who become manufacturing ’ s next generation .
Here ’ s some facts from the widely successful 2016 MFG Day , according to the 2016 MFG Day Survey conducted by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute :
Students Were Wowed
• 88 % of students felt MFG Day activities and tours were interesting and engaging
• 89 % reported a greater awareness of manufacturing jobs in their community
• 84 % were more convinced that manufacturing provides interesting and rewarding career opportunities
• 64 % of students announced a greater motivation to pursue a career in manufacturing
• 71 % of students are more likely to tell friends , family , parents or colleagues about manufacturing after attending a MFG Day event
Teachers Got Educated
• 90 % of educators felt MFG Day activities and tours were interesting and engaging
• 90 % reported a greater awareness of manufacturing jobs in their community
• 88 % were more convinced that manufacturing provides interesting and rewarding career opportunities
MFG Day Hosts Couldn ’ t Be Happier
• 89 % of MFG Day hosts saw value in participating in the annual industry celebration
• 86 % are likely to host a future MFG Day event
A Strong Showing in Michigan
• 2,810 events were held in 2016 and 215 were held in Michigan ( the most of any state )
