Members Make an Impact
Join a Policy Committee to Drive MMA ’ s Agenda
Representatives of member companies sit on the MMA Policy Committees . The Committees meet regularly or as needed to review issues and developments in industry and to help develop public policy positions .
Air Policy Committee
Actively monitors and participates in the development of legislative and regulatory air quality policy . Serves as a forum for members to share ideas and thoughts on air related issues . Forms ad hoc sub-gro ups as needed to address specific issue as they arise . Meets first Wednesday of the month .
Environmental Policy Committee
Addresses non-air related environmental issues of concern to manufacturers . Members actively monitor water , solid waste , remediation and other environmental regulations and participate in the development of legislative and regulatory policy . Serves as a forum for members to share ideas and thoughts on environmental issues . Forms ad hoc sub-groups as needed to address specific issues as they arise . Meets second Wednesday of the month .
Government Affairs Committee
Provides opportunities for input into policy direction for MMA on every major issue impacting manufacturers . Helps develop MMA ’ s Legislative & Regulatory Agenda . Also provides opportunities to interact with state government officials . Meets on an as-needed basis .
Energy Policy Committee
Serves as a forum for exchanging information on energy utilization and potential industry strategies to ensure an adequate supply of reliable power at economically competitive rates . Forms ad hoc sub-groups as needed to address specific issues as they arise . Meets on an as-needed basis .
Health Care Policy Committee
Serves as a forum to discuss and provide direction to the MMA Government Affairs team on issues which impact employers ’ health care costs . Meets on an as-needed basis .
Employment & Workforce Policy Committee
Focuses on issues related to workers ’ and unemployment compensation , MIOSHA standards and regulation , manufacturing talent and workforce development initiatives . Meets on an as-needed basis .

Lawyers Committee ( fees may apply )
The MMA Lawyers Committee is made up of the in-house counsel of MMA member companies . These attorneys meet to decide MMA ’ s involvement in amicus curiae activities on behalf of the Association members . Meets every other month .
Mining & Natural Resource Industry Policy Committee
Addresses the unique challenges faced by the members of the mining and mineral industries , providing a forum to discuss and provide direction to the MMA Government Affairs team . Meets the third Wednesday every other month .
Tax Policy Committee
Helps determine tax policy priorities for the MMA Legislative & Regulatory Agenda and provides opportunities for input into tax policy development for the Legislature and the Executive Branch . Meets the second Monday every other month . 6
