Italian guys flirt a lot
Really true. When wearing a dress on a sunny day, it was not possible to leave my street without hearing 'bella'. This sounds like I was enjoying that, it was nice the first time, but when it reoccurs a lot with old, scary looking guys, or in the evening when returning home, it is Not. Men stare like crazy, totally checking you out from top to bottom without shame! Or harassing you with making noises in your ear.
When waiting for the bus an Italian guy, well man really, asked my name, where I am from and 'hai un fidanzato' do you have a boyfriend... Then he asked me to marry him. Not really subtile, right.
And I have been two men's love of their lives as well.. Only after a five minute talk.
Only very few Italians speak English
Elderly people often speak no English at all, fair enough. But also very few younger people speak English, even students.
Italians dress well
That is for sure! Especially in Milan fashion is important, of course. Lots of men wear suits, leather shoes and hats. Woman often wear dresses or really classy, straight pantalons and most of them wear high heels.
I even saw an old lady, walking slowely and slightly bent forward, but still classy, taking her Louis Vuitton bag with her.
Cardrivers drive like crazy
This is a fact. Although when you walk a pedestrian crossing, everyone stops... which is better than in Holland, I think. Also, when paying attention, it is possible to ride a bike through the city. Just make sure the car drivers can see you, so do not cycle at the very right side of the road, but in the middle!
