John Herrera returns to the

London catwalk

John Herrera launched his brand in London just two years ago when he was chosen to participate in the British Council and British Fashion Council's International Fashion Showcase. That same year he went on to win at the London Emerging Designer Awards at Somerset House, and showed his winning collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Tokyo. Earlier this year, with his Agila collection for autumn/winter 2017, he won Britain’s Top Designer.

Inspired by the accidental discovery of the Philippine Islands by the Spanish, Diogo Ribiero's World Map from 1529 will set the pace for John Herrera’s prints and the linear fabric manipulation techniques. Parts of the medieval map will be rendered on opaque and translucent fabrics with the help of Epson’s dye sublimation printers. The combination of sheer and stiff materials with soft fabrics will create new silhouettes, which John hopes will give the impression of sailing to new worlds.

Spanish colonial heritage will also be explored, integrating design elements from the era of King Phillip of Spain, the monarch whom the Philippines was named after.

A beloved icon of his country, prior to travelling to the UK for London Fashion Week, John Herrera will officially be sent off in style courtesy of Epson Philippines at the TWG Tea Salon & Boutique in the East Wing of EDSA Shangri-La Plaza Mall. Special guests and close friends as well as an invited selection of press will get to meet John and say farewell as he makes his way to London to showcase Armada.
