Andrew and I are great friends; we still talk all the time and it’s great that gay men can be friends with someone who is labelled as a straight man, and vice vice versa. It should all be about diversity and not labelling people. But we still have a way to go.

Can you see yourself setting down with another gay man and maybe bringing kids up now that Australia has allowed gay marriage?

It is great that that Australia has legalised gay marriage. Yes, it would be great to settle down and the thought of kids appeals to me. But to be honest marriage may not be for me. Never say never though. I am an uncle now and that has changed me completely, bringing w whole new meaning to love.

We live in frightening times and you bravely went in full drag to interview Trump supporters. Did they realise that Courtney was not all she seemed?

What you did not see was the huge, hunky, six-foot bodyguard who was off camera. When we arrived, they said that he and I should have a photograph together and I thought, “How lovely, he is a fan.” But he was there to take care of us.

So many of the supporters had no idea Courtney was a man - maybe it was the fact we filmed late in the afternoon and the light was kind! Most people were polite though and we did not have much opposition. What hits me is how all these people bought into fear and propaganda that the US. The white supremacist was taken with Courtney, and that got a little scary because after filming he got a little amorous and even chased me across the road for a date. But it is something that I am glad I did.
