What advice would you give to someone interested in getting into the jewelry design business?
-Start with a realistic business plan Allow at least 5 years to establish.
-Patience, persistence and above all passion. In my career there have been knock backs and it can be very disheartening to begin with. I believe strongly that success is how one deals with failure. I think it is also really important to be open to advice from industry experts.
Next year my label will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary and my label is stronger than ever.
- Stick at it. Success won’t come overnight.
- Surround yourself with people that believe in what you want to achieve.

What is your favorite piece you’ve ever created – and what made it so special?
The Lantern Pendant. This is one of my earliest designs and still the most popular. The Lantern Pendant is an award winning jewellery design (Design A Award, Milan). Each panel of the Lantern is hand carved by me, making each pendant produced unique. Made from solid sterling silver each Lantern is set with various semi-precious and precious gemstones. The Lantern goes through an oxidation process to enhance the intricate detail of the carvings. The Lantern Pendant is also available in bright silver, gold plated sterling or solid gold.
It is a very cherished piece for me, as the original lantern was the last piece I created for my Masters Degree. It has been a design that has been with me since the beginning and is ever-changing.
I am currently working on the Lantern “Genesis” Series. This series explores size, patina and work in gold.
