Iam grinding my teeth so badly at night when I sleep it is wearing them down. My dentist prescribed a night guard. But my partner says it may also be affecting my sleep pattern. I read somewhere that Botox might help. Is this true?

Danielle Jones Cardiff

Botox is an effective way to deal with teeth grinding. It works by relaxing the muscles in the mouth that are in charge of chewing and teeth grinding. Most patients see a complete resolution of their symptoms within a few days or weeks and the results can last for several months and occasionally up to six months.

Apart from teeth grinding, this entirely medical application of Botox can also help ease headaches and patients will feel more refreshed as they will enjoy a better sleeping pattern. And there’s also a great "aesthetic side effect" in the form of a reduction of the jaw line.

It’s a treatment that is popular with celebrities, such as Kylie Jenner.

For more than ten years now I have been having Botox and fillers and it really works. But recently I feel my face has been looking less natural. I am not ready for a face-lift yet. Stem cell therapy for the face is in all the magazines – would that be a better alternative?

Margaret Howard, London

Stem cells can be obtained from blood/plasma (less effective ones) or from our fat cells (tummy/love handles). The number and viability of stem cells originating from fat is higher.

Recently these fat cells and eventually stem cells are being obtained more easily through improved cannula techniques (without surgical or large scale invasive procedures) and give excellent results.

Facial contours and volume increase and improve naturally and in some cases last for up to two years. It is the most natural way of rejuvenation and volumising a face. Nothing looks fake, as there are no foreign materials being injected.

This treatment can be done for those who have had facelifts as well as those who have not – and the results are incredible.
