Jet-setting from Cap D'Antibe in the South of France to the fabulous Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles or on an exotic beach in Thailand photographing Celebrities and Beauty Queens, Alan has established a certain glamorous look to his photographs which makes every woman and man look flawless.
One of the industry finest celebrity photographer he has discovered some of the biggest names in modeling and has photographed some of the most beautiful faces including Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss as well as actors such as Jude Law and Kate Winslet.
Self-taught, he started as a still life photographer and then moved on to advertising securing his first studio in Wardour Street at age 17.
Later he moved to Los Angeles where he started a photo agency called Celebrity Pictures and lived at the Sunset Marquee and it's here that he watched the first episode of Baywatch and liked the look of one of the actresses, he managed to find the name of the publicist at the end of the show's credits and scrolled through the hotel's yellow pages to find the contact, he organised a shoot in the garden of the hotel , the actress arrived, It was Pamela Anderson.
There are so many stories not dissimilar to this one and some even more astonishing yet all true, I witnessed some of them while working with him and at the time it seemed like a typical day on set with Alan Strutt.
His photographs project clean lines and strong shapes and he has an ability to make it look effortless allowing everyone to be themselves including his creative team.
