I remember going round to her place to watch movies but I wanted to do more, go out, and explore the city. But she became what we call “a couch potato” always saying she was tired, that she just wanted to watch TV or rest becuase she had a long day at work.

Our other friends were more onboard with me, so we had to let her be which is a pity. Slowly we drifted apart and have not seen her in years.

When you are ready to move on in life, to do new things, and your friends don't approve or don't want to come onboard or support you… guess what…. time for new friends!

Friends and family will not live your life for you…. they will not pay for your trips, your dreams, your goals or what you want to do in life. So why would you allow them to slow you down?

As you’ve heard me say before, what you've done up until now, has gotten you where you are today. For things to change, you have to change. You have to let people go. Your life should be about finding what you are good at, becoming one of the best at it, then inspiring the world with your gift.

We are going to be dead a lot longer than we are alive, so wasting time in the little things it's simply not worth it. It is our right to be outstanding, to be extraordinary, to be the best we possibly can be, to be the leaders that inspire the generations to come, to be those who people say ' WOW, they did change my life' … because if you don't have a purpose or passion in life, you will never feel  truly fulfilled.

Have I accomplished everything I want in life? Heck no!! And that's what drives me forward! You need to keep adding dreams and goals as part of your purpose so that you never stop.

It doesn't mean that you cannot have fun! It is incorporated into our life.

Surround yourself with those who are already doing what you want to do and get inspired by them. I still get some 'acquaintances' (I no longer call them friends), who still don't understand what I do or the first thing they say to me is ' why don't you get a proper job? or ' are you still doing that little thing you were talking about? '

I simply smile, nod and don't even bother answering anymore because it is negative energy. In life there are two types of people. Those who hope and wish and those who actually do.

Those who simply hope and wish tend to never amount to much because they are not action takers. They are wishing for thin air to turn into gold. They make excuses and keep hoping and wishing.

I used to be one of them! Always hoping… always wishing…. until I realized that it didn't work without me taking action. You may fall flat on your face and make a fool of yourself when doing new ventures, but I rather fall a million times and get up a million and one, than just wish a million times.

''And I see this all the time. I still have a few friends I talk to, that I kind of gave up on pushing them, because I got tired of the hopes and wishes. There are only so many times you can say to someone ' Take action! Stop feeling sorry for yourself' or tell them ' it will be ok' when the answer is always the same.''

I no longer listen to the moaning of others over and over and over again. And I am very straightforward. I have told a few friends this is the last time I want to hear about this… you better make it a good moan, because this is it! You either move forward or I simply don't want to hear about it again. What happens in life is that people become enablers without even realizing it.

And again, all of this is from personal experience. I have been one of those! As it is easier to say ' it will be ok, don't worry, keep wishing, there is always hope.' instead of being straightforward and honest with people.
