Can you share your evening beauty regime?
I always take my makeup off and I never use facial wipes following the advice of an amazing makeup artist I know (Jo Adams). She told me they are full of alcohol and really dry your skin out. I now use Lancôme Bi-Facil to take off my eye makeup and I wash my face with Elemis foaming facial wash before putting on my Elemis Pro-Collagen Night Cream.
Do you ever diet and if so is there any tips you have for others wanting to lose the pounds ?
After I had my daughter Tahlia, who is now 2 and a half, I was determined to get back in shape as I put on 5 and a half stone! I exercised every other day with a personal trainer and together we created a fitness app for the IPhone that I could do wherever I was in the world. After 5 months I also decided to cut out sugar and carbs and in the two months that followed my weight dropped drastically. So much so I ended up weighing a stone less that I had done before I was pregnant. I think I went a bit too far as people started to comment I looked too thin. Now I’m at a healthy weight for my height. I try not to eat too many carbs and occasionally I cut out sugar for a few weeks when I feel like I am putting on a few pounds. Sugar is the enemy!
With valentine day coming up what would be your ideal romantic evening?
I’m lucky that Alex is a bit of a romantic. When we he proposed he surprised me and took me to Blake’s in London where we had an amazing meal and stayed the night in the Corfu Suite. To go back there would be incredible. Although saying that he is also a fab chef so a home cooked meal by him and a nice bottle of wine in front of the fire at home is just as romantic for me!
What tips would you give for going on a romantic date and looking your best ?
Don’t over do it on your makeup, keep it simple by either going for a bright lipstick or a smokey eye - don’t do both. Make sure your hands look nice and your nails are done. I think a girl or a guy with bad nails is a big turnoff!
What beauty advice would you give teenage girls?
The way you take care of yourself now will effect how you look later in life. One of my biggest bits of advice would be to use a moisturiser with SPF every day from an early age and drink lots of water. Try to have a healthy and balanced diet and remember the majority of images you see in magazines aren’t actually real - they have been airbrushed.
Thank you so much for your time Laura, we look forward to seeing you soon
