In our second focus on House of Colour, the UK’s premier personal stylists and colour analysis experts, meet Director Jackie Perkins.

Jackie grew up in a Cornish, Methodist farming community, where you kept your best clothes for Sundays, didn’t ‘invest’ in work clothes, and make-up was exclusively for 'tarts and ugly people’!

She was also influenced by the frugality of her mum who ensured she had everything she needed but excess was frowned upon and she did not necessarily have everything that she wanted. “Our clothes always had to be in good order but my mum was passionate about making do and mending but only to the highest standards!”

Jackie inherited a passion for high standards, demonstrated in achieving a first-class degree, but graduation presented the challenge of not knowing what or how to dress for a corporate office environment. Her confidence was additionally hit after she had to take six months off work to recover from a horrific motorcycle accident. It was at this stage that she rebuilt her confidence from the ground up creating her own personal style using the scientific and practical approach of Colour and Style. With 10 year’s sales and business experience already under her belt, Jackie trained as a personal stylist and opened a House of Colour franchise in Peterborough, which thrived under her leadership. She has subsequently become a co-owner, and the business and mindset coach, of House of Colour, creating a ground-breaking program with breakthrough results for stylists.
