Q&A

I am exhausted with this summer’s heat and feel like a bloated, permanently sweaty mess. What can I take to brighten me up (that is legal) and what can I do so I look cooler? Denise Harper, Manchester

Feeling bloated during hot weather is a common symptom - many people feel this way. This is usually due to dehydration (we sweat more during hot weather which quickly puts us at risk of dehydration). To avoid feeling bloated, stay well hydrated, drink plenty of water, and coconut juice is good too. Also try to wear light and comfortable cotton clothes. Avoid salty food; in combination with dehydration this will make you feel extremely bloated. If you think that you do sweat excessively (for example under the arms) Botox injections can significantly reduce sweating in certain areas. This is a treatment we provide at Vie Aesthetics, so do get in touch if you want to know more.

I love the column and it has got me thinking about all the aesthetic treatments I could have done. My main problem is my tummy - I seems to look at a bread roll and bloat. I have seen fat freeze treatments advertised and want to know if they are any good? What can I do? help!
