I asked Steve just a few questions:

LM:What are you doing these days?

SM:I have a new restaurant serving seafood cuisine opening on December 5, 2016 in Nashville called Fin & Pearl…. I am an investor and entrepreneur who puts deals together.

LM: As I see it, everything in your career has been an absolute success and each of these endeavors centers around mastering BRANDING in a magnificent way, whether it’s branding a successful big time artist or your very successful restaurants ACME & The Southern Steak & Oyster. I’m sure you’ll have just as much success with Fin & Pearl. What is your methodology that makes your branding so successful?

SM:I’m never the front guy. I work behind the scenes and can’t take all of the credit because there are a lot of other people working to help build each brand. But I do believe to be a success in the things I’ve chosen to do, one must have a creative streak and an entrepreneurial streak, to be able to take risks and mitigate risks. One must be fair and honest, transparent in all dealings. It has been important to me to build a reputation that is solid.

LM:In terms of the future, what matters most to you?

SM:My work with the foundation I created, The Shalom Foundation in Guatemala, is very special to me. It’s a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. The sustainability of the Hospital is very special to me. This project is very near and dear to my heart. Anyone who wants to help a child or teenager who needs a life-saving surgery can make a contribution via http://www.theshalomfoundation.org (Since 1992, groups from The Shalom Foundation have been making trips to Guatemala to help the people in any way possible. In 2011, through hard work, donations, and a lot of prayer, The Moore Pediatric Surgery Center opened and began providing hope and healing to more than 3,000 children and teenagers.)
