What is the most important piece advice you pass on to people you meet....

KNOW what you're here for, and know that you are here to serve. Get dirt honest with yourself about what you're most passionate about and align your daily activities with these forces. Additionally, if you want to have a life that isn't just about achievement, but one where you're actually, truly fulfilled— and as a result, filled with gratitude, joy, and love—then the secret to keeping that momentum is to live in gratitude instead of expectation. Expectations kill joy. If you really want to have a magnificent life, trade your expectations for appreciation and watch your whole life change in that moment. To put this another way, commit to enjoying life not only when everything goes your way, but a real master of their mind will also find a way to enjoy life even when everything feels like it’s against you, when someone screws you over in business, or when you’re passed over for a promotion or an opportunity, or when you lose someone you love, or when nobody seems to understand or appreciate you. Unless we make the conscious, definitive decision to stop suffering as it arises in our lives and decide live in a high-energy, resourceful state, our survival mind will take over and give us pain whenever our desires, expectations, or preferences are not met. What a waste of so much of our lives! If we can realize that life is always happening for us, not to us, then all of the suffering disappears.

How do you deal with negative people....

THERE are no negative people. There are just individuals that are hurting, in pain, or in fear. So the first step is not to judge them but to try to understand and appreciate what they're going through and then, define what will influence them to make change. I always say, change is never a matter of ability. What human beings can do is amazing. What they will do is usually disappointing. Change is a matter of strong enough drive, strong enough hunger and strong enough motives. You have to get leverage to make change. You need consequence. Reasons come first, the answers come second. If we've got strong enough reasons, we can get ourselves to deal with just about anything that’s in front of us. In terms of how to help someone learn to shift, I've taught for 41 years that by changing the way we use our body through a radical change in physiology -- the way you move, the way you breathe, how you gesture, the tempo of your voice, your biochemistry -- you can instantly and radically change the emotional state of an individual from frustrated, overwhelmed, angry, sad, or depressed to passionate, grateful, excited, playful, connected, driven, and committed. In fact, Harvard Business School did a study proving that just two minutes in a "power pose" (think Wonder Woman or Superman – standing tall, shoulders back, head up) can have a radical impact on your biochemistry. In the group they sampled, testosterone increased 20per cent, while cortisol (stress hormone) levels decreased 25per cent, and risk tolerance increased 33per cent.

That's the power of physiology. I teach people not just to sit and pose, but to move and use their voice, face, and breath in ways that create a radical change and improve your biochemistry, and therefore your emotions and your life.

What is the most positive song on your playlist....

LATELY, we’ve been listening to “Angel by the Wings” by Sia and I love the classic by Patty Griffin “When It Don’t Come Easy”. We really love all Mumford & Sons especially, “Below My Feet” and “Awake My Soul”. If the lyric “keep the earth below my feet” isn’t positive, I don’t know what is.
