Harmonic Dissonance: Selva presents the new Gatsby collection Verona, February 2018 - From 17 to 22 April, Fiera Milano Rho will be hosting the 57th edition of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, providing a showcase for the new products from Selva, which this year celebrates 50 years in business. This important milestone highlights the DNA of a company with a strong, dynamic identity, boasting a long, in-depth knowledge of the world of Interior Design that allows it to respond to contemporary style requirements, creating a thrilling dialogue between projects and ideas. This year, the brand’s unmistakable style has shaped a design concept studied down to the last detail: Harmonic Dissonance, a smooth blend of contrasting elements, skilfully combined to awaken brand-new emotions. An idea of beauty that stands the test of time, taking on a surprising, magical new shape to create a timeless design that speaks out to the living style of the future. This is the concept underlying the new Gatsby collection, designed by the Italian architect Lorenzo Bellini and inspired by the American dream of the 1930s. Simple, geometric shapes, enhanced with original, carefully sourced materials: dark woods, leather details and top-quality fabrics team with chrome-plated inserts to give rise to chic, rigorous, exclusive settings. A new approach to the living area, reminiscent of times past that inspire the trends of the present, thanks to a minimalist, comfortable perfection. An élite collection with a retro allure, ready to bring a timeless, sensual touch of luxury to every setting. The Tiffany console boasts simple, geometric lines, with wood panels featuring decorative details with a polished chrome finish. Painstaking attention to detail is evident in the three drawers, lined with grey microfibre fabric and equipped with a self-closing mechanism. A delightful metropolitan slant created with simple, sharply defined lines: Diamant tall boy takes its inspiration from the squared outlines of the New York skyscrapers, with sculpted shapes that stretch a fil rouge between the design of the present and the future. When iconic design is shaped into a project, it gives us masterworks of elegance such as Star dining table. An authentic example of modern luxury, this new model takes pride of place in the living room thanks to its eclectic structure and eye-catching glossy lacquered finish. Selva will be taking the stage in Pav. 1 - Stand C02/C06 with the new Gatsby collection, in a location ready to envelop visitors in the unrivalled allure of the roaring ’30s. There’s more, however, and the Salone del Mobile will also offer the opportunity to present an outstanding joint effort between Selva and the famous Japanese designer Toshiyuki Kita, with a sneak preview of a brand-new creation.
