It is time to turn back the clock but good creams are not hacking it anymore. What do you suggest an “aesthetics virgin” like me should start with? I am 42 and my skin is good, as I do not sit in the sun.

I'm glad your skin is good - and well done in avoiding sun exposure. As much as the sun gives us the feel good factor, it is also the main contributing factor for skin ageing.

Aged 42, I think it is time to maybe think about some milder aesthetic procedures. The truth is that the ageing process is happening continually, and therefore even with the best skin care in the world you would get facial collagen and volume  loss. Initially a little Botox would soften the lines on the forehead, frowns and crows feet.

Filler to give a little volume to the cheeks and soften the nasolabial folds is something that should be considered in the early stages too. The best initial course of action would be for you to visit a reputable clinic for a consultation with a highly skilled doctor in the field.
