Are the changes in web technology and visual social media such as Instagram changing the dynamic, the business model has evolved out of having to have either stores owned by the labels or stockists to being able to instantly have access to a global audience, which must present a fresh set of challenges to growing the label?

Being with the times is a must in order to reach out to a global audience. Throughout this process there are many challenges and we love to overcome them.

What do you think the biggest risks are currently in the fashion industry for growing labels?

For growing labels right now, the biggest risk is lack of originality. Nowadays people are just following blindly where innovations and creativity is fading. Fashion needs to be treated like art before it diminishes.

If I made you head of the fashion industry for a day, what would be the thing you’d most want to change?

The thing I’d like to change the most is to go back in time and use organic materials. Re-use and recycle fabrics to create an awareness to save the planet through fashion.

You’ve become well known for bringing glamour and energy to the catwalk, how do you edit down your ideas to the final collection?

We start with an inspiration and then have a brainstorming session. This helps us to create different designs. With the help of a stylist and a design team I edit down what is created hear so that the designs link to the original idea.

You’re opening a bar in Mumbai, what’s it like, and if we had a weekend in the city where else should we go?

We are opening the bar in July! It has a gothic, mysterious and vintage feel reflecting my style and we would invite you to our bar to have a good weekend in the city when your next there!
