AP – It’s very much a Sheryl Crow vibe.

KB – Yea, It rides that line between Country and Rock. But the song is about a relationship that’s falling apart and they are taking shots at each other every chance that they get – its not a healthy relationship and its about people that are on that line and whoever wants to throw up their white flag and surrender so they can be done with it and end their Civil War.

MOA - THE INTERESTING THING ABOUT THAT METAPHOR IS THAT YOU’RE ACTUALLY TRYING TO STAY TOGETHER. AND SOMETIMES BEING IN LOVE IS A FIGHT – AND SOMETIME YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THE PERSON THAT YOU LOVE. YOU LADIES REALLY HAVE GROWN UP FROM A SONG LIKE “FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ ON YOUR LAST RECORD. GREAT LYRIC, GREAT STORY ALSO BUT IT’S A HUGE LEAP CONCEPTUALLY. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR NEW SONGS ARE LAYERED.

AP - Yea we have another song called ‘Outlaw’ that we think people are going to like. It’s our sort of ‘Cowboy Casanova’. It’s about that guy that steals your heart at first sight but you know that he is bad.

PM – Yea, he DAAAAANGEROUS!! Auburn Road laughing

PM – I think luckily for us, we’ve chosen an awesome genre in Country. Country is one the last genres of music where people actually still buy whole albums or CD’s and stuff and are really loyal people. When they are fans, they are fans, so one thing that is also another goal of ours is to just get more fans of what we do. When they become fans they will buy more albums or download and stream our music more. And tell their friends about us online and help spread the news about “this great new girl group in Country called Auburn Road”. Because in the short time that we’ve been out here, we have seen people respond to us and our music in such a profound way that if we can get more people like that on our side then all of the noise won’t be as big a problem. That might be a little naïve in a way but I believe it to be true. Sometimes you support people because you feel something from them and you can say ‘Hey, I like this...” so you support it.

AP - Yea we are doing a crowd-funding thing for our next record. And there is a really sweet guy and his wife, John and Pam who bought a few things on the website (www.PledgeMusic.com/AuburnRoad) and then they came to one of our shows and bought merch at the show. And then they went back home and bought a few more things on our page. It’s really cool in that way.
