VETERINARIAN,
SANDY COASTS PET
WELLNESS CENTRE,
INC.
I think not just millennials but the society as a whole has
come to realise that those things will not necessarily bring
you happiness.
The millennial generation therefore has made it more
about forging your own path and doing what is best for you,
which we now acknowledge can range very widely from per-
son to person, and that is okay.
Dr. Alanna Myers
Dr. Alanna Myers is a veterinarian who is following her
passion. She wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of five
years old and is now realizing her dream.
1.)Who is Alanna in business?
Alanna is a driven, entrepreneurial business woman who
strongly believes that compassion and good business sense
shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.
2.)How did Sandy Coasts Pet Wellness Centre, Inc. first
come about?
I have wanted to be a veterinarian ever since I was five
years old so starting my own veterinary clinic helped me to
realise my dream.
3.)What are some of the main differences between mil-
lennials and previous generations as it relates to business?
Some of the main differences include our priorities and
also how we do business. I think we all have a lot to learn from
each other. The baby boomer generation for instance seemed
to have had more of what I call ‘The American Dream’ prior-
ities including the house, the car, the white picket fence and
the 2.5 kids.

4.)Fun Lightning round:
Coke or Sprite?: Sprite FTW!!
Hunter or Gatherer?: Gatherer of course. I think hunting
is cruel.
Favourite Caribbean sweet treat?: Mangoes
Facebook or Instagram?: Well Facebook owns Instagram
which says a lot, in my opinion. And I feel like I can do more
on there so Facebook.
5.)What has running your business taught you about life?
Running my business has taught me a lot about life but
here are a couple of lessons that I was thinking about just
today: Nobody built their business alone, not even Oprah.
Never look down on anyone having a rough time. Try to
put yourself in their shoes and be as compassionate as you
can. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Filling your cup and self care is very important. If you
are not giving yourself enough self care, the people and the
things around you will suffer, including your business.
6.)What is new for Sandy Coasts?
We recently got in more dog crates to be able to offer
boarding services for even more dogs. In addition to the ball
pit for dogs we are working on getting in even more dog (and
cat) toys. We are always working on living up to our slogan of
Sandy Coasts being the place for pet fun, fitness, and well-
ness!
7.)What is next for Sandy Coasts?
We are planning to bring in more pet products.
