Aspects to improve communication

When criticizing the other person, talk about what they do, not about what they are. Labels don’t help the person change, they just make them more defensive.

Discuss topics one by one.

Do not accumulate negative things without communicating them, otherwise they produce an “explosion” that lead to destructive hostility.

Do not talk about the past.

Be specific.

Avoid generalizations.

Be brief.

Mind your non verbal communication.
