The holidays are often a blend of whimsy and full-fledged flurry . Gifts , social gatherings , school events , decorations , and all the planning and to-do lists . If we ’ re not careful , it can sure be easy to lose sight of things when you can ’ t even carve out a moment to exhale . That ’ s why it ’ s important to make it a priority . As I think back on all my Christmases past , the parts I recall with the greatest fondness don ’ t involve wrapping paper or grand gestures . They ’ re instead filled with the laughter and love of the folks who matter most to me — the ones who are family by blood or the family I ’ ve been fortunate enough to stumble upon . That ’ s the good stuff — the parts that matter most . So take a moment , no matter how big or small , and reflect on those things .
