Every fall we are fortunate to work with a great group of aspiring journalists at Georgia College in putting together the stories you see featured in our annual 20 Under 40 edition of Milledgeville Scene .
I often work directly with these students , and each year their work exceeds epectations and makes this edition outstanding . This year we ’ ve added an online component as well . By scanning the QR code included with each article or by clicking on their 20 Under 40 link on our website , you ’ ll hear portions of their interviews and insight from the honorees in their own words .
The honorees are selected from community nominations and each student is assigned one subject to interview . They work throughout fall semester on developing their stories , essentially working as freelance writers . Special thanks to Christina Smith and Georgia College for
being so willing to work with us on this project .

I ’ ve enjoyed working with these students and learning more about the honorees . Their work , their enthusiasm and professionalism give me hope that the field of journalism is in great hands . I ’ m grateful for the finished product and I have little doubt that they , too , will one day leave a positive mark on our world .
