home ROOM FOR REFLECTION (Above) Everyone agreed that there should be no window treatments in the library, which has a vaulted ceiling at one end and abundant natural light. The owner likes a modern style, which is reflected in the dark cabinetry and shelving and the ebony and ivory Chanel tweed carpet cut to fit the area where the desk “floats.” The desktop is stained in espresso and painted to match the vintage chair upholstered in a pumpkin shade that the owner favors. The sofa is unusually deep and was designed without arms to accommodate opening the file cabinets that are built into the bookshelves.
